Certified Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy
At Action Potential Physical Therapy our licensed physical therapists provide a specific type of hands-on-care known as orthopaedic manual physical therapy. This style of care is delivered by licensed physical therapists that have completed hundreds of hours of post graduate training and completed at least three levels of oral and practical certification exams. We take pride in that our owner and founders are nationally certified fellowship instructors and examiners for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy. In addition many of our physical therapists are progressing toward certification through the Institute of Manipulative Physiotherapy and Clinical Training.
By definition Orthopaedic Manual Therapy is "A clinical approach utilizing skilled, specific hands-on techniques, including but not limited to manipulation/mobilization, used by the physical therapist to diagnose and treat soft tissues and joint structures for the purpose of modulating pain; increase range of motion; reducing or eliminating soft tissue inflammation; inducing relaxation; improving contractile and non-contractile tissue repair, extensibility, and/or stability; facilitating movement; and improving function."
