Cheryl Hoxie, MPT, COMT is a Licensed Physical Therapist who practices at the Academy Place location of Action Potential Physical Therapy. Cheryl graduated from the University of Michigan in 1991 with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences in 1990 from the University of Texas in Austin, TX. Cheryl also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from UT Austin, earned in 1983.
During her years in practice, Cheryl has received advanced training in orthopedic manual physical therapy from the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT). She is also trained and certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling. Currently, Cheryl is enrolled at the Orthopaedic Manual Therapy University and is pursuing her National Fellowship Certification through Action Potential Physical Therapy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Cheryl enjoys treating a breadth of conditions and a variety of patients. Beyond successful evaluation and treatment of biomechanical dysfunction of the spine and upper and lower extremities, Cheryl treats temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD), balance dysfunction, and issues specific to women’s health. Additionally, she enjoys treating the pediatric population, and educating children and their parents.
When not working, Cheryl is with her two teenage children and husband and active in the community. She volunteers with National Mill Dog Rescue, several booster organizations through her children’s schools, and the National Charity League: Pikes Peak Chapter. During the fall, Cheryl also enjoys watching Texas Longhorn Football.
