Cheryl Hoxie, MPT, COMT, practices at the Academy location of Action Potential Physical Therapy. Cheryl graduated from the University of Michigan in 1991 with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences in 1990 from the University of Texas in Austin, TX. Cheryl also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from UT Austin, earned in 1983.
During her years in practice, Cheryl has continuously pursued additional education and skills enhancement opportunities. She received advanced training in orthopedic manual physical therapy from the North American Institute of Orthopeadic Manual Therapy. Additionally, she is trained and certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling. Most recently, Cheryl earned the title Certified Orthopedic Manipulative Therapist through the Institute of Manipulative Physiotherapy and Clinical Training.
Cheryl enjoys treating a breadth of conditions and a variety of patients. Beyond successful evaluation and treatment of biomechanical dysfunction of the spine and upper and lower extremities, Cheryl treats temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD), balance dysfunction, and issues specific to women’s health. Additionally, she enjoys treating the pediatric population, and educating children and their parents.
When not working, Cheryl is with her two children and husband and active in the community. She enjoys volunteering with National Mill Dog Rescue and several booster organizations. During the fall, Cheryl also loves watching Texas Longhorn Football!
