Fred Stoot, BMR (PT), FCAMT, COMT is a Licensed Physical Therapist who practices at the Fillmore location of Action Potential Physical Therapy. A true industry leader who has practiced for over twenty years, Fred’s background includes working as a physical therapist for the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche and as a Physical Therapy Consultant for the NBA’s Phoenix Suns. Additionally, he is a National Examiner of manual therapy certification candidates (oral/practical) and a National Instructor of various manual physical therapy courses. Fred has been involved with Action Potential Physical Therapy in varying roles since the company’s inception in 1997.
Fred’s breadth of education and experience are exceptional. He earned his Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Fred then successfully finished the Advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy Program at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He went on to complete the comprehensive Orthopedic Specialization Exams through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Fred has continued to hone his knowledge and skills while teaching courses such as Vertebral Mobilizations, Upper and Lower Quadrants, and Pelvic Biomechanics. Currently Fred instructs classes at the Orthopedic Manual Therapy University offered through the national fellowship certification organization, IMPACT.
In addition to treating patients and teaching advanced physical therapy courses, Fred enjoys running, cycling and fly fishing. He relishes any free time in the outdoors and with family and friends.
