Richard Monaco, PT, DPT, COMT, DIPMT, OCS, Cert. DN, is an Action Potential physical therapist practicing at the Downtown / Pikes Peak location. Rich attended Nazareth College in Rochester, NY where he obtained his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2010. In addition, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from SUNY Cortland in Cortland, NY.
In 2012, Rich received his Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Most recently, he completed the Certified Orthopedic Manipulative Therapist (COMT) post-graduate coursework, training, and testing through the Institute of Manipulative Physiotherapy and Clinical Training (IMPACT). Rich is currently pursuing his National Fellowship Certification.
Rich operates from the perspective that physical therapy consists of equal parts manual therapy, for joint and soft tissue mobilization, and appropriate exercises, for maintenance and support. He achieves success with his patients and corrects the underlying pathology using postural reeducation, hands on positioning techniques, and specific exercises.
When not working or studying, Rich spends his time in the outdoors. He enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, rock and ice climbing, and hiking and backpacking.
